Description
The Devils Marbles are best viewed at sunset they have so much to offer.
Back In a July night in 2006 I climbed the highest boulder (pretty high up) laid on my back and just looked up at the stars, because there was no moon or cloud, all the stars were visible for the total 360 degrees. It was like having my own private observatory the memory still lingers and has the wow factor in my life. The photographic technology available to me back in 2006 meant that I had to return to the Devils marbles to get the high quality image I was looking for.
The Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve is located 100 km south of Tennant Creek and some 390 km north of Alice Springs (a good 4 hours drive). The nearest settlement is the small town of Wauchope located 9 km which is known as the UFO Capital of Australia, strange but true. (see the Australian photos facebook site for images )
The marbles got there name in 1870 by John Ross, he wrote , “This is the Devils country and he has emptied his bag of marbles”.
Lloyd Howlett’s Australian landscape limited edition photographs are printed on archival quality canvas (designed to last well in to the next century and beyond) individually numbered and signed. Making each print completely individual.
